Our Philosophies

One Church, One Family, One Child (1C1F1C) is an initiative of the Louisiana First Foundation that educates faith-based communities across Louisiana on innovative ways to support vulnerable children, youth, and families in the foster care system and those who care for them. The goals are to raise awareness of the needs of foster youth among the faith community, to improve resources available for foster care children and youth, and to reduce the need for foster care and other child welfare services.

OUR GUIDING PHILOSOPHIES
The Power of Faith Based Communities
Faith-based communities share common values of compassion, love, and service, which form the foundation for supporting children, youth, and families in need of child welfare services.
Everyone Can Do Something
Fostering is an incredible way to support children and families in need, but you don’t have to foster to make an impact. Our vulnerable children, youth, and families can benefit from any level of support an individual or community is able to give.
Working Where There is the Greatest Need & Potential for the Greatest Impact
Supporting foster families and youth in need means prioritizing prevention, supporting reunification when possible, and directing care to those facing the greatest barriers.
Inclusivity
Every family has the potential to become an exceptional foster family, providing support to foster children and youth.
